Location: Aintree
Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 DOE
Permanent, Full-Time (35 hours per week, flexible start and finish times)

About the Role


Adaptable Recruitment are delighted to be working with a well-established business based in Aintree as they look to recruit an Accounts Payable Clerk to join their friendly finance team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of the purchase ledger function, ensuring all supplier invoices, purchase orders and delivery notes are accurately processed and reconciled.
  • Match and verify supplier statements, resolving any discrepancies promptly and maintaining strong relationships with external suppliers.
  • Manage supplier account setup and updates within the accounting system, maintaining accurate records at all times.
  • Prepare and process high-value supplier payments in line with company policies.
  • Support month-end activities, including reconciliations and reporting.
  • Collaborate with procurement and operations teams to ensure accurate recording of goods and equipment held across multiple locations.
  • Process company and personal expense claims, ensuring compliance with policy and accurate matching to card statements.

About You

  • Previous experience in an Accounts Payable role essential.
  • Strong organisational skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Confident communicator, able to work effectively with colleagues across departments and with external suppliers.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Outlook, Word). Experience using Sage 200 is desirable but not essential.
  • A positive, proactive attitude with the ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Team-oriented, adaptable and reliable with a willingness to learn and take initiative.
