Credit Controller

Adaptable Recruitment are delighted to be partnering with a well-established and expanding organisation in Birchwood, currently seeking an experienced Credit Controller to strengthen their finance function. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a forward-thinking business with a strong market presence and a supportive team environment.

The Role:

As Credit Controller, you'll play a key role in managing the company's accounts receivable process, ensuring timely cash collection and maintaining strong customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Allocating incoming payments and ensuring receipts are accurately matched to customer accounts

  • Managing outstanding debt by proactively contacting customers to secure payment

  • Reviewing and monitoring credit limits, supporting decision-making around order releases

  • Keeping detailed and up-to-date records of all credit control activity

  • Maintaining the sales ledger, identifying and resolving any inconsistencies

  • Handling customer queries efficiently, working closely with internal departments to resolve issues

  • Assisting with onboarding new clients, including completing credit checks

  • Contributing to month-end activities, including reporting and ledger reconciliation

About You:

  • At least 3 years' experience within a Credit Control position

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment

  • Excellent attention to detail with a high level of accuracy

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload effectively

  • Confident communicator with a professional and approachable manner

  • Driven, resilient, and focused on achieving results

Desirable Skills:

  • Familiarity with accounting or ERP systems

  • Experience managing multi-currency accounts

  • Previous exposure to large or key customer accounts

  • Understanding of escalation procedures within credit control
